Art Work Drop Off Dates:
Friday, September 9, 2011, 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Saturday, September 10, 2011, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
If you would like to be considered for our Entry-Fee Free Juried Exhibition, bring your artwork to Southern Exposure on our drop off days, September 9th and 10th, 2011. Smiling volunteers will receive your submissions, and the very next day they will be reviewed by Juror, Denise Markonish, curator at MASS MoCA. If your work is selected, it will be on view to the public in a major exhibition the following week!
Proof, the theme for the 2011 Juried Exhibition, is intended to inspire and encourage a broad level of creative response across multiple media. Southern Exposure invites visual artists to submit work that responds to this theme in some way, shape or form. Southern Exposure’s juried exhibition does not require artists to pay to enter their work. The exhibition is open to any artist living in Northern California north of King City and south of the Oregon border. To obtain more information about eligibility, rules, artwork drop-off, jurying and to apply, visit our websiteand download the call for entry form.

JOIN OUR YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
SoEx seeks youth artists age 14 – 21
Do you know any awesome young people who would like to join our Youth Advisory Board this Fall?
Youth Advisory Board is a group of artists age 14 – 21 from diverse communities throughout the Bay Area. Each semester, youth artists work alongside professional artists towards the completion of a final project on view to the public. Southern Exposure teaches YAB members to use art as a community-building tool and provides them with a space to create their own events and have their collective voices heard.
Over the course of ten weeks, YAB students visit Southern Exposure after school on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 – 6 pm, ending the semseter with a final public project. The fall 2011 semester of YAB begins on Wednesday, September 14. DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION to participate! Attendance is FREE!
